Real Madrid supporters in Paris have mocked Kylian Mbappe after his proposed move to the club fell through.

Mbappe was closely linked with a move to Real, but eventually stayed with Paris Saint-Germain, where he signed a new contract worth £650,000 a week.

Real Madrid fans are in Paris for the Champions League final against Liverpool and they took the opportunity to express their feelings about Mbappe.

A fan held up a sign that read: ‘Mbappé you will regret’.

In addition, another supporter had a shirt with ‘Mbappe 0 Champions League’ printed on the back.

As Real fans are only too happy to remind him, the 23-year-old has yet to win the Champions League. He came closest in the 2019-20 season, when PSG lost to Bayern Munich in the final.

Another fan wore a shirt with Mbappé’s name on it and the middle finger.

Last year, Real had rejected several bids for Mbappe, including one for £154 million.

Mbappe’s new contract with PSG runs until 2025 and he does not rule out moving to Real after that.

As reported by BBC SportsMbappe said: ‘You never know what could happen in the future. I give up thinking about the future, I only think about the present and the present is that I have signed a new contract for another three years at Paris Saint-Germain.”

When asked if his dream of playing for Real was over, Mbappe added: “Never over.”

The striker revealed that he had personally informed Real president Florentino Perez of his wish to remain at PSG.

He said, ‘It was last week. I didn’t announce it to my teammates because the club didn’t want to. They wanted it to remain a secret and a surprise to everyone, even if it was hard to keep surprises.

“I have a lot of respect for him and for their club they have done a lot to make me as happy as possible. As a respectful person, I owed it to them to speak to them in person, but that was the best I could do.

Since joining PSG in 2017, initially on loan, Mbappe has scored 171 goals in 217 appearances.

Mbappé has won the Ligue 1 title four times and the Coupe de France three times.
