Real Madrid are reportedly considering signing alternative right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Alexander-Arnold has been heavily linked with a move to Real, and Liverpool are reportedly starting to accept that the England international will leave Anfield with his contract expiring in the summer.

The 26-year-old could leave Liverpool in January, with Real Madrid seeking a replacement for Dani Carvajal, who suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury. Alexander-Arnold will be able to talk to foreign clubs in January.

However, Alexander-Arnold is not the only right-back option Liverpool are pursuing.

Carlo Ancelotti’s team are said to be following a highly regarded international who plays in the Bundesliga.

Real Madrid are evaluating Bayer Leverkusen’s Jeremie Frimpong, according to ESPN.

Frimpong, who usually plays at right back, could join Real after Dani Carvajal suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury.

A Manchester City youth team player, Frimpong took his first steps into senior football with Celtic before signing for Leverkusen in 2021.

He has eight caps for the Netherlands and made his international debut in 2023.
