Rachael Gunn will share her side of the story in her first television interview since her Paris Olympics disaster.
Gunn, whose stage name is Raygun, became an overnight sensation last month after stealing the show with her breakdancing performances at the inaugural women’s competition.
His routine included moves where he jumped like a kangaroo, imitated a snake and did the spray.
He failed to score in any of his three battles.
The quirky nature of Raygun’s moves captured the world’s imagination, with artists including Adele and Jimmy Fallon poking fun at his routine.
But she also received praise from high-profile figures, including Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, who said: “Well done to her and great credit to her. That’s part of the Australian tradition of people putting in the effort. She’s put in the effort to represent our country and that’s a good thing.”
“The Olympics are about getting people involved in sport. That’s a good thing and Raygun had the opportunity.”
However, she has faced criticism over her selection as Australia’s representative at the Games, with false and unfounded accusations being levelled against the academic who has a PhD in breakdancing.

Raygun has kept a relatively low profile, but will have his first television interview.
Gunn broke his silence to respond to a petition containing a number of incorrect statements about the breakdancer, a petition that has since been deleted.
“I really appreciated the positivity and I was glad I could bring some joy into their lives; that’s what I was hoping for,” she said.
‘I didn’t realize that would also open the door to so much hate, which, frankly, has been pretty devastating.
‘I went out and had fun, but I took it very seriously. I worked really hard preparing for the Olympics and I really gave it my all.
“I’m honoured to have been part of the Australian Olympic team and to have participated in breaking’s Olympic debut. What the other athletes have achieved has been phenomenal.”
He will be speaking to Network Ten’s The Project on Wednesday night’s show, starting at 6.30pm
