Job titles have a huge impact on the price you pay for car insurance, a new report from quotezone.co.uk reveals.
Warehouse workers top the list of highest-cost jobs: their average pay is £1,371, almost 40 per cent more than the median wage of £984, the results suggest.
They are followed by healthcare assistants (£1,343); cooks (£1,279); sales assistants (£1,240); shop assistants (£1,193); and accountants (£1,148).
Best value for money: Pensioners enjoy the cheapest premiums, averaging £492.
HGV drivers (£580) are quoted premiums up to 41 per cent lower than average, followed by civil servants (£589), teachers (£664) and nurses (£741).
