- In fiery Friday rage, Hadley described Bolt as ‘bloody good soft on pedophiles’
- News Corp. columnist is a steadfast proponent of Cardinal George Pell
- But Bolt says he only supports Pell because he is convinced of his innocence
Talkback radio presenter Ray Hadley has sensationally accused conservative columnist and broadcaster Andrew Bolt of “being soft on pedophiles” in a broadcast.
Bolt was accused of “minimizing” the care of Paris Street, a student at Melbourne school, St Kevin’s College, who was the subject of an ABC revelation this week.
The News Corp Australia columnist apologized for the fact that convicted sex offender Peter Kehoe hit a boy at that school. No sex has occurred ‘.
Mr Street wrote a viral open letter in which he said his experience had been “trivialized” in Bolt’s recent interview with the Sydney Institute founder, Gerard Henderson.
2 GB and 4BC broadcaster Ray Hadley launched a stunning attack on News Corp columnist Andrew Bolt on Friday, claiming he is “gentle on pedophiles”
Andrew Bolt apologized this week to St Kevin’s College student Paris Street (right) about a segment where school street care was reportedly ‘minimized’
Despite an on-air apology from Bolt to Street on Thursday, 2 GB channel Hadley Bolt attacked sensationally during his morning show on Friday morning.
“You are damn good, damn good, you are gentle to pedophiles,” Hadley van Bolt claimed.
“Mr Bolt, criticism of me by you is water from a duck back,” he said.
“You do a lot of good things in the community, but with crikey, when it comes to pedophilia, you have a very bad record – a very bad record.”
“Bolt has a history of defending people who are convicted of pedophilia. He has a history of it!
“Even if appeal is denied – he has a history of it.”
Hadley apparently refers to Bolt’s defense against Cardinal George Pell.
The former treasurer of the Vatican has been convicted of child crimes and his first appeal to the Victoria Court of Appeal was refused.
Pell has received permission to appeal to the High Court.
Controversy: The headmaster of St Kevin’s College in Melbourne resigned after revelations and wrote a character reference for the athletic coach that provided Paris Street
Bolt said this week that he is only defending Pell because he believes the cardinal is innocent.
“If I really thought that George Pell was a pedophile, I would hurt him … I think you know I don’t tolerate that kind of nonsense,” he said.
“None of us are defending pedophiles, and I am not defending any creep looking after a child – of course not, on which planet do my critics think I should?”
“The only thing I defend is justice and an honest decision.”
Bolt said he was “really sorry” on Mr. Street and said, “I regret it, I’ve spent every hour since I thought about it, and I hate what happened.”
Daily Mail Australia contacted Andrew Bolt for comments.
WHAT PARIS STREET IN OPEN LETTER SAID
“To have what I was trivialized on Tuesday evening … is unimportant, especially when Gerard makes the comment:” of course we understand the victim “.
“Even if you showed some sympathy for me, you would not minimize what was done to me. Gerard, you would not respond to Andrew’s question “how bad was it” by saying “not at all”. I was invited to jump into a 59-year-old bed … The Facebook messages he sent me. I was fifteen.
“He was sentenced to care for me. For your own knowledge (it must be clearly improved), please refer to the relevant legislation on what care is exactly.
“You have to take this into account, and I quote on the website of the Victorian State Government:” The crime of grooming relates to predatory behavior to prepare a child for sexual activity at a later date. “To listen to you and say that sex has not taken place is actually beyond the relevant information about the crime itself …
‘Gerard Henderson and Andrew Bolt, how would you feel if someone acted like Peter Kehoe did to me, to your own children? Would your comments be different?
“Think about your comments and never make them again in the future. They make me sick.”
