A man with a rat’s tail who allegedly jumped from his car to threaten another driver in the middle of a motorway has been revealed as a repeat offender.
Daniel Huynh, 22, allegedly jumped out of his Volkswagen Golf hatchback at a red light in Clayton, in Melbourne’s southeast, around 12.30pm on October 27 to insult a motorist directly behind him.
Footage of the alleged incident went viral over the weekend when it was shared on social media by Dashcam Owners Australia.
However, Huynh’s identity was shrouded in mystery until Victoria Police broke their silence on Tuesday.
Now it can be revealed that Huynh is no stranger to Highway Patrol.
The man’s fate remained shrouded in mystery until Tuesday, when police broke their silence.

A suspected road racer with a rat’s tail is said to have jumped from his car onto a highway.
Records show he appeared in court for five separate driving-related offenses in Dandenong, Prahran and Moorabbin, dating back to 2019.
In footage from his latest alleged incident, Huynh could be seen getting out of his vehicle at a lit light and furiously jumping towards the motorist behind him – all while making threatening gestures and shouting.
When he reached the window, he began swearing and hitting the other car, before suddenly starting sprinting down the highway.
We could then see two police officers running after him.
On Tuesday, Victoria Police confirmed Huynh attempted to escape police on foot, leaving his passenger alone in the car.
He then went to the police.
“Investigators learned that a man approached a car on Princes Highway, near Clayton Road, at around 12:30 p.m., in an aggressive manner,” a police spokeswoman said.
“While he was remonstrating with the driver, the police approached the 22-year-old.
“He ran from the scene, leaving his vehicle and passenger behind.
“He then went to the police and was charged with criminal damage, unlawful assault and road traffic offences.”
Huynh has been released on bail and will appear at Moorabbin Justice Center on February 6, 2024.
