During his first safari trip in India, a technical student took beautiful photos of a rare black leopard.

Abhishek Pangis, from Pune in western Maharashtra, spent 40 minutes last month watching the majestic big cat in the Tadoba Reserve.

The 23-year-old said he “ emptied ” when he first saw the leopard on the second day of the two-day trip, reported LadBible.

After ten minutes, Mr. Pangis realized he was the only one traveling with a camera and startedmaking pictures.

He said: ‘I had never seen anything so beautiful, I was completely baffled. Usually people have seen it for two or three minutes, but I was very lucky because I could see it for 40 minutes. ‘

He saw the cat “drink water from a pond, mark its territory, and stalk langurs and monkeys.”

Mr. Pangis and his parents saw the leopard in June when it was 113F (45C) and the cat had to leave the undergrowth for water.

The animal’s dark coat is caused by melanism – when additional black pigment develops in the skin or hair due to a recessive genetic mutation.
