In 2023, Myles reveled in the fact that his son Siloh had suffered a stroke that left him with irreversible brain damage.
She told how she noticed the little boy’s right hand was constantly in a fist when he was just six months old, while they later noticed he dragged his right foot while walking.
On the recommendation of the family, they took him to the doctor for a check-up and he was subsequently diagnosed with hemiplegic cerebral palsy after having suffered a stroke that had not been previously noticed, the damage to his brain being irreversible.
Sharing a photo of himself with Shiloh in the hospital, Myles wrote on Instagram: “Stroke awareness. The hardest part of parenting is the things that are out of our control. When Shiloh was about 6 months old, we noticed that he did not use his right hand and had it constantly in his fist.
‘As new parents we didn’t think much about it, especially as at his developmental checks we mentioned that he seemed very left-handed and this didn’t seem to worry us.
‘He was getting up to stand at around 12 months and it took him a further 6 months to take his first steps.
“When he started walking, we noticed he was dragging his right foot and family members recommended that they get an appointment with the GP to make sure everything was okay. “We were not prepared for what happened.
‘Multiple appointments and finally an MRI would later show that he had damage to the left side of his brain which had affected his right-side limbs.

Myles, who won The X Factor with his band in 2017 and shares Sahara and four-year-old son Siloh with partner Keli Hall, said the incident was “the scariest thing I have ever seen”.

Kelli also shared a snap of the Sahara after the ordeal.

‘We were told that Shiloh had suffered a stroke at some point before, during or shortly after birth. Hearing the words hemiplegic cerebral palsy sent a wave of anger, confusion, and sadness through me.
“It wasn’t being told that your son won’t be the next Messi or Ronaldo that hurt. It was the idea that doing laces, making spaghetti in a spoon or playing certain games with friends could be a challenge for him. The little things .
‘But… ShiShi doesn’t know any different, he figures out how to do things his way and although the brain damage can’t be reversed, we’re doing everything we can to help strengthen the right side of his body!
‘Shiloh has made a lot of progress and we are so proud that she has taken on challenges she doesn’t even know exist!
‘Day by day we learn more and this is still very new, but we are doing what we can.
‘We’re sharing this in the hope of raising awareness among other first-time parents who notice something a little different about their baby, as the sooner they discover it, the better it will be in the long run.

In 2023, Myles rejoiced that his son Siloh had suffered a stroke that left irreversible damage to his brain.
‘If there are parents or people with hemiplegia reading this, please send a private message or in the comments about any experience that has helped you and/or your loved one. Thank you to our F&F who supported Shi and the healthcare professionals for helping us learn and understand more about how to help Shiloh.
Myles said Shiloh was diagnosed with hemiplegic cerebral palsy and that the main symptoms of cerebral palsy bring problems with movement, coordination and development.
Signs of problems in a child include delays in reaching developmental milestones, such as not sitting up at eight months or walking at 18 months, appearing too stiff or too limp, restless, jerky or clumsy movements, weak arms or legs, twitching muscular movements, uncontrolled movements, shaking hands and walking on tiptoe.
Hemiplegia means that one side of the body is affected, while monoplegia is where one limb is affected, diplegia is where two limbs are affected, and quadriplegia is where all four limbs and usually the entire body are affected.
