Sterling says that Kevin De Bruyne should have recognized their performances
“Especially in the last year in which we won the domestic quadruple including the competition, a real player who wins PFA Player of the Year doesn’t really speak for himself,” Sterling said AS.
“The prize was awarded to a Liverpool player [Virgil van Dijk] who had a fantastic season, but I also look at previous seasons when Yaya Toure scored 20 goals from midfield and he didn’t win a Player of the Year.
“Sergio Aguero has also been in the club for over seven years and has scored incredible goals in this period, but no City player has won it.

“It is impossible to win the competition four times and none of the players were players of the year.”
Sterling is also convinced that Liverpool players will enjoy a number of individual prizes at the end of the season, but has wondered why.
“So this year Liverpool wins the competition and a Liverpool player definitely wins the Player of the Year,” he said. “We won the competition four times and we were not treated with the same respect.
“We won the competition the first year [under Guardiola], Kevin De Bruyne was incredible and they gave it to another player [N’Golo Kante].
“Every year we win a big trophy and it is awarded to an opponent. That kind of thing doesn’t depend on us, but we keep going. “
