KIIS FM host Lauren Phillips announced her engagement to her billionaire boyfriend, aircraft tycoon Paul O’Brien, live on Monday.
The 41-year-old TV and radio presenter shared the exciting news with her co-host Jase Hawkins and discussed the surprise proposal in Mykonos.
‘We went to Europe for the holidays. We had a few days in Rome just the two of us and I thought if he was going to propose, it would have been the two of us,” she began.
“Then we went to Mykonos and met all our friends and it turned out that I was the only person who didn’t know. He proposed in front of all our friends. He had no idea and then the next minute he was down on one knee.
The brunette beauty said the public proposal was such a surreal experience that at first she thought Paul was making fun of her.

I think I thought he was joking. It was an out of body experience. I don’t think I even looked at the ring. I just hugged him and cried and then we stood up and we all celebrated.
She couldn’t contain her joy when talking about the ultra-romantic proposal.
“Everybody said, ‘you didn’t say yes,’ and I said, ‘of course it’s a yes!’ Then we called my family who was home at the time. He asked my dad. He is a gentleman,” he added.

Lauren began dating Paul while living in Melbourne at the start of the Covid pandemic in early 2020.
But when Victoria’s lockdown began in July of that year, she moved to Byron Bay.
There she reportedly moved in with Paul while continuing to work as a weather presenter for Weekend Today, a role she left to focus on her radio career.
Prior to her relationship with Paul, Lauren was married to television producer Lachlan Spark for a year and they confirmed their split in December 2018.

The brunette beauty added that the public proposal was such a surreal experience that at first she thought Paul was just making fun of her.
