Ed Sheeran, Coldplay and AJ Tracey are among the artists who will take to the stage of Radio 1’s Big Weekend this holiday.
After the event was canceled last year due to the pandemic, the event will take place this year from May 28 to May 31 with over 100 live performances for fans to enjoy all weekend.
There will be no live audience, but the audience can watch all the action online.

Anne-Marie, Celeste, London Grammar, Wolf Alice, Mabel and Royal Blood are among others who will perform during the four days.
Five performances were filmed on location in the UK for iconic backdrops and will be screened this weekend.
Coldplay will be performing at Whitby Abbey, while Ed Sheeran’s performance will be at Snape Maltings, a Grade II listed arts complex on the banks of the River Alde in Suffolk.

Meanwhile, AJ Tracey is performing at The Regal, a basketball court belonging to the South London community center The Black Prince Trust.
Jorja Smith will perform at the iconic Alexandra Palace in North London and Royal Blood will perform at Brighton Pier in Sussex.
About 50 of the performances will be brand new live sets recorded exclusively for Big Weekend 2021.

Five performances were filmed on location for iconic UK backdrops and others were shot at the BBC Radio Theater.
Viewers can also listen to archive sessions from the Live Lounge and Piano Sessions, as well as previous Big Weekend performances.
Radio 1 DJs will personally present the event and performances will be broadcast on Radio 1 with full sets available on BBC Sounds.

Fans can also watch a selection of songs on Radio 1’s BBC iPlayer and YouTube channels, with a curated stream on BBC iPlayer featuring select performances and artist interviews from Saturday to Monday.
BBC One will also air a 90-minute Big Weekend special hosted by Radio 1 Breakfast presenter Greg James.
In 2019, approximately 25,000 fans attended the event at Stewart Park in Middlesbrough to see artists such as Miley Cyrus, Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift and Stormzy take the stage.

Radio 1 Breakfast host Greg James says: ‘When we announced our Big Weekend plans earlier this year, I panicked that someone had forgotten to book artists. It turns out they just kept it from me because they know I can’t keep it a secret.
It’s a nice surprise though, because this is an incredible line-up.
