Radiant MAGA rioters bragging about breaking down Pelosi’s door saunter out of court

A smiling MAGA rioter strolled out of a Texas courthouse yesterday after uploading a viral video from the Capitol boasting about breaking Nancy Pelosi’s door.

Jenny Cudd, a flower shop owner and former mayoral candidate, was arrested by the FBI on Wednesday and charged with entering a restricted building and disorderly conduct.

Despite spending up to a year behind bars if found guilty, Cudd smiled from ear to ear as she passed reporters outside Midland courthouse after the judge granted her bail.

Cudd went viral last week when she shot a video from the Capitol, saying, “We didn’t take down statues, we didn’t destroy anything – but we took down Nancy Pelosi’s office door.”

Cudd denies doing anything violent or damaging property.

She said that she did not personally enter Pelosi’s office or see the door collapse, but spoke in a collective sense of the people in the Capitol.

Her lawyer, Don Flanary, said the allegations of the crime reflected that.

“She’s really just been accused of being there,” he said CBS. “She didn’t break into Nancy Pelosi’s office. She never went in or near anywhere. ‘

He added, “We’re pretty sure the cameras will show she was only in the public areas of the Capitol.”

Cudd was charged along with fellow Midland resident Eliel Rosa, a former immigration policy officer for local Republican candidate Jamie Berryhill.

Rosa is facing the same charges as Cudd.

The pair were released on bail by US magistrate Ronald Griffin while a Washington DC judge oversaw the case against them.

Cudd stated that she planned to enter innocent pleas when she returns to court next week.

As of Tuesday, the FBI said it had charged more than 70 people in the Capitol Hill riot and was continuing to track down more suspects.

Cudd last week boasted how the ‘patriots’ invaded the Capitol after attending Donald Trump’s rally at the National Mall.

She was one of many political candidates who took part in the siege, along with former US House candidate Rick Saccone of Pennsylvania and recently elected lawmaker Derrick Evans of West Virginia.

Cudd came last in a three-way mayor race in Midland, Texas, in November 2019, and current Mayor Patrick Payton said he was “ saddened ” by her involvement with the Mafia.

‘It saddens me. And that is exactly what I want to say about it. It makes me sad, ”he said.

Cudd claims she had only taken photos in the Capitol rotunda and not invaded the House or the Senate chambers or congress offices.

She condemned the violence that shocked the world, claiming that she had only wanted to protest with fellow Trump supporters in a “ show of solidarity. ”

But in her Facebook video that has since been deleted, she had cheerfully talked about how “we broke down Nancy Pelosi’s office door.”

Speaking on Pennsylvania Avenue, she said she had listened to Trump’s provocative speech at the White House before going to Congress.

“ We’re starting to walk to the Capitol and get the news that Pence has betrayed us, ” she said – after the vice president refused to submit to Trump’s demands to try and throw out electoral votes legitimately for Joe Biden .

“When Pence betrayed us, we decided to storm the Capitol,” she said. “So we get to the Capitol, and some of the patriots had already taken down all the barricades.”

Describing what happened inside, she said, “We didn’t take down statues, we didn’t destroy anything – but we took down Nancy Pelosi’s office door.

“Someone stole her gavel and took a picture sitting in the chair, turning off the camera … patriots sat on the floor and sat in the MPs and Senators’ chairs.”

Cudd said the mob stayed in the Capitol for as long as possible until they started gassing us and beating patriots with batons.

Repeatedly referring to the invaders as “patriots,” she said the MAGA crowd was a “bunch of red-blooded American patriots who are really so scared about our country and loving it.”

In one of the many striking images that shook the foundations of US democracy on Wednesday, the steps of the US Capitol were lit by police ammunition as riotous Trump supporters occupied the building.

She later added: ‘The government serves with the consent of the ruled. Well, the ruled are broken, and the ruled don’t trust them.

So yeah, I’m proud of everything I was a part of today, and I’ll be proud of everything I’m a part of in the next one, and we’ll see what happens. ‘

Cudd has since tried to distance himself from the violence by saying she left the roundabout after taking photos for about 15 minutes.

A photo taken by a news agency showed that she was taking pictures with her smartphone while fellow Trump supporters occupied the roundabout.

The siege has raised questions about how the crowd got into the Capitol so easily, leading to the resignation of the head of the US Capitol Police.
