Celebrity cook Rachael Ray opens up about her favorite holiday traditions she shares with her husband John M. Cusimano, and even revealed what her partner loves to make in the kitchen.
Ray, who recently sparked health concerns among fans, shared a behind-the-scenes look at his family life during a recent interview with Us weekly.
The couple, approaching their 20th anniversary in September, each have their own role in their traditions, with Cusimano responsible for one very important thing: eggnog.
“I always have him make the eggnog from scratch,” Ray shared.
“He has a spectacular recipe where he foams skim milk and then adds cardamom, cinnamon, rum and an egg,” he continued.
“It’s lighter than store-bought eggnog, but just as delicious.”
But of course, that’s not the only thing they do during the Christmas season.
“My family always wants lasagna or pasta for Christmas and some type of rib or tenderloin, so it’s kind of a food tradition for us,” Ray explained to the outlet.

“But (my husband John Cusimano) and I love seafood during the holidays because on Christmas Eve that’s what you’re supposed to eat,” the Nutrish pet food owner said.
However, they are not always cooking; Sometimes the couple likes to sit back, relax, and enjoy some takeout.
They especially love doing it while enjoying time at their home in Tuscany, Italy.
“We have some limited takeout options near us in Italy, but there is good Chinese food if you drive far away and of course great pizza very close by which we have all the time,” he told the outlet.
‘We also have great friends close to us who are cooks or chefs, so sometimes we call them and say, “I’m really tired, can you send me some sliced steak and salad?”‘
In 2001, Ray met Cusimano, who works as a lawyer, at a mutual friend’s party, according to People.
A friend of theirs had been trying to set up a date with them for over a year, but immediately hit it off at the party.
The two do not have children together, something Ray discussed during a November episode of his podcast, I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead, along with guest Bob Harper.

Ray and her husband of nearly 20 years, John M. Cusimano, share a dog named Bella Boo Blue, whom they adopted in 2020 after the death of their previous puppy, Isaboo.
This year’s holiday celebration comes just a few months after Ray sparked concern after posting a video that appeared to show her slurring her words in her speech this fall.
“I chose never to have children,” Harper said. “God loves all people who have children.”
‘Me too! And boy did I get criticized for it over the decades,” Ray responded with a smile.

This year’s holiday celebration comes just months after Ray sparked concern after posting a video that appeared to show her slurring her words in her speech this fall.
The video was a preview of her new show, Rachael Ray in Tuscany, and showed her cooking Ossobuco while paying tribute to the late Tony Bennett.
At that time, his representative told him TMZ that she had “no comment” on the matter.
After some viewers shared their concerns, Ray admitted during his podcast premiere last week that he had suffered “a couple of bad falls” recently.
The celebrity chef shared that she likes to do “physical work” around the house, but lately she has had to cut back on certain tasks because she suffered “a couple of bad falls” while carrying firewood.
Speaking clearly and cheerfully, Ray said: ‘I’m a housewife. I love housework. I love being in the kitchen. I’m always working with my brain every day, I’m always writing something, but I really like housework.’
He continued: ‘I like what people consider physical work. I like making dinner, planning dinners, making lists. I love the physical work, helping to carry the wood.’
Ray then commented, “I’ve had a couple of bad falls in the last few weeks, so I haven’t done that in a while, but I love carrying wood.”
