Rachael Finch has hit back at cruel trolls after they called her a mother-shaming insult and accused her of “underfeeding” her children on a “strict” diet.

The model, 35, often gives an insight into her pantry and frequently shows off the healthy meals she has prepared for her children Violet, eight, and Dominic, five.

However, Rachael revealed she was called ‘almond mom’ and accused of ‘endangering’ her children after sharing a video of herself making ‘naked burgers’ for her children using lettuce instead of buns to keep the ingredients together.

‘Almond mom’ is a negative term used to criticize a person for supposedly pushing disordered and unhealthy eating in their families, and is often used to refer to parents ‘obsessed’ with healthy nutrition.

An angry Rachael slammed the trolls’ “disgusting” comments and called the bizarre accusation “hilarious.”

Sharing a photo of herself cuddling with her two children, who she shares with her husband, dancer Michael Miziner, Rachael passionately wrote: “Someone officially labeled me ‘almond mom’ this week.

‘Definition according to Google: ‘a parent who follows incredibly strict or dangerously unhealthy eating habits and attempts to impose them on his or her children.’

‘This was because I made naked burgers for dinner (meat patty and vegetables wrapped in a cup of lettuce).

“While it’s downright disgusting, it’s also absurdly hilarious. I’ve now become a pro at responding emotionally to these comments.

‘I’ve laughed with many of you about what kind of mom you would be if you were labeled by a food. Comment what kind of food, mom, mom would you be?

In the video, Rachael is shown preparing mini beef burgers with vegetables including pickles, carrots and arugula, mashed avocado and tomato sauce for her children.

She placed the ingredients inside a lettuce cup, rather than a bun, but was widely criticized for allegedly giving her children “disordered eating” with healthy food.

Rachael responded to the criticism at the time, stating that trolls wouldn’t complain if she fed her children fast food every day.

She fumed: “Apparently I’m giving my kids ‘eating disorders’ by making them naked burgers.” Anyway, according to the comment on my last Tik Tok video…

‘What a wizard. It’s funny, you know, they wouldn’t bat an eye if he ordered cheeseburgers and fries from a fast food chain and put them on the table. But will naked, veggie-filled homemade burgers cause psychological damage? Go figure.’

The former Miss Universe is passionate about health and rarely allows her children to eat processed or sugary foods.

She has said that her daughter Violet didn’t know what sugar tasted like until she was over three years old.

Last month, Rachael appeared on Extra today to address a hate message she received from a cruel troll who accused her of starving her children.

Speaking to hosts Sylvia Jeffreys and David Campbell, she said she “welcomes constructive criticism” but having strangers talking about her children “crosses the line.”

‘I don’t shy away from criticism, I welcome constructive criticism. Particularly in our business because that’s what helps us improve,” she said.

‘But when it comes to personal attacks, that’s what crosses the line. Especially when it comes to your children.

She went on to say that trolls on Instagram only ‘see a fragment of your life’ and don’t have a bigger picture of what’s happening at home.

‘I make eggs on toast, I make smoothies. I make a rice and quinoa pasta with grilled fish and vegetables. Normal things.’
