R Kelly stopped paying child benefit and changed his number to prevent his children from calling him a father
R Kelly has taken his three children out of his life, says ex-wife Andrea, who revealed how the singer still abused her & # 39; during a performance on The Bert Show.
& # 39; Even now, financially, I am being abused. He stopped paying child benefit from June & # 39; help Andrea.
& # 39; When I came out and told my story, it was the last time he paid for support. Because again, you can not physically abuse me … you can not abuse me emotionally … so you abuse me financially. & # 39;
Later she revealed that the singer does not speak to his three children – Joann, Jay and Robert Jr. – and that they in turn do not refer to him as & # 39; Dad & # 39 ;.
Andrea also said that she decided to end her marriage after her eldest daughter witnessed the singer's abuse for the first time, but lived in fear that he would kill them.

Andrea made it clear during the interview that these new accusations were heavy for her children.
& # 39; It is very difficult. He now has no relationship with his children. He does not call them, he has changed his phone number, & # 39; Andrea revealed.
& # 39; We do not have that phone number. Like, what father does that? But that's him. & # 39;
She continued: & # 39; At the end of the day, what do you tell your children? They call him "Robert Sr." They do not call him & # 39; Dad & # 39; because he is so disconnected from his children. & # 39;
When asked if there was an arrest warrant for Kelly's arrest because he stopped making payments, Andrea noted that the courts in Cook County, Illinois have told her to facilitate that process.
& # 39; We had a court date, we went to court, & # 39; help Andrea.
& # 39; And they told me you should let him serve. & # 39;
She then remarked: & # 39; The extent to which you go as a woman when you are trying to fight and [the courts] leave you out to the wolves. & # 39;
The topic of why she stayed with Kelly for so long was also discussed, with Andrea explaining that she had grown up seeing abuse.
& # 39; The first time I ever saw a man beat a woman, it was my grandfather and he was a Baptist preacher, & # 39; she explained.
& # 39; His behavior was not alarming for me
Andrea said that after her daughter had witnessed Kelly forbid her for the first time, she realized that she had to leave the marriage.
Will he follow us and kill us? & # 39; she remembered then.
There was also some criticism of the lack of attention for Kelly's victims and women in color, with Andrea not afraid to call people during the interview.
We are woman of color, let's be real. We are the lowest on the totem pole, because if my name were Amber Lynn, her parents would have called one day and that was over, "Andrea said.
She also had hard words for John Legend and the # MeToo movement, and said: "Do not support me because it is trending. help us not because you want to cast a vote because it is so trending. & # 39;
Andrea said her relationship with Kelly began to disintegrate after the release of the sex tape that allegedly possessed the singer and a minor girl.
This resulted in Kelly & # 39; s arrest for accusation of child pornography and his subsequent trial in 2008.
She filed a restraining order against her ex in 2005 after an argument.
A year later she filed a divorce and in 2009 the split was completed, claiming that Kelly chose not to be part of the lives of his children.
Follow him: the singer has been brought to justice, but the authorities in Cook County refuse to issue an order for his arrest, says Andrea, and instead she told her she should serve him
Last week Andrea's eldest daughter spoke for the first time since several women accusations of rape and abuse against the accused pedophile on the Lifetime docs' Surviving R Kelly.
In a long and emotional post shared on her Instagram page, 20-year-old Joann Kelly explained why she is silent about the allegations about her father and shows her support for the singer's alleged victims.
& # 39; The same monster you all have to deal with is my father. I am well aware of who and what he is. I grew up in that house, wrote Joann, who is acting under the name Buku Abi.
Then she explained her silence by saying: "My choice not to talk about him and what he does is for peace of mind. My emotional state. And for MY healing.
& # 39; I had to do and move in a way that is best for me. & # 39;
Before I start I just want it to be known that I speak from the heart, nothing I say or do not say is to hurt a party affected by this & # 39 ;, Joann wrote at the beginning from her post.
I just want you all to understand that devastating is an understatement for everything that I am currently feeling. & # 39;
She later commented: "I pray for all families and women who have been affected by my father's actions. Trust, I am deeply affected by all this. & # 39;
Joann went on to say that she did not like to discuss her personal life in a public forum, but felt that she had no choice.
She explained that it & # 39; years ago & # 39; has been since she or her brothers and sisters had contact with the singer and that she and her mother Andrea would never ignore, support or be part of something negative [Kelly] does. & # 39;
At the end of her message she took the time to thank the people who showed their support to the family during this difficult time.
