Quick-thinking girl gets Alexa to save her from a gang of marauding MONKEYS who invaded her house using a clever trick

A quick-thinking girl has used an Alexa device to save herself from a gang of marauding monkeys that invaded her home with a clever trick.

Nikita, from the Basti district of Uttar Pradesh in northern India, told her Amazon Alexa to play a dog’s bark to scare away a group of monkeys that were throwing food and utensils in her kitchen.

The 13-year-old boy told India ANI News: ‘Some guests visited our house and left the door open.

“The monkeys came into the kitchen and started throwing things here and there.”

Nikita said she was with her 15-month-old niece at the time, who the teen said was scared, so she showed quick thinking while trying to get the marauding monkeys out of the house.

‘I saw Alexa and asked her to play a dog sound. Because of that bark, the monkeys got scared and ran away,” Nikita said.

Their mother, Shipra Ojha, told the outlet that Nikita, using the Alexa device, a third-generation Amazon Echo Dot, had saved the girls’ lives.

She said she was in another room when she heard her “wise” daughter barking at Alexa, causing the gang of monkeys to flee the house.

The teenager was also praised for her quick thinking by local authorities, who agreed that she had likely saved her and her niece’s lives.

Nikita’s brother-in-law and father of her niece told local media that monkeys are very common in the area and are known to be “naughty.”

He added that Alexa has been a great help to the family, who uses it to control the lights, fan and air conditioning in the house.

‘It also gives us news update, IPL score, [and if you] Ask any question – answer. You can say almost anything,’ she added.
