Two vigilantes showed up to evict three brazen squatters living in a New York home after its owner was arrested after trying to evict them.

Adele Andaloro inherited her family’s home in Flushing, Queens, but was dismayed when squatters moved into her childhood home last month.

Andaloro confronted the squatters herself – and was then arrested when one of the men inside called the police for changing the locks.

The furious homeowner, who was in the process of selling the house, said: “I’m really afraid these people will get away with stealing my house.”

She also expressed concern that by the time authorities looked into the matter, it would have been more than 30 days since they moved in. Importantly, squatters in New York have rights after occupying a residence for more than a month.

Andaloro entered the house, flanked by reporters, after an unidentified woman unlocked the door. Inside, she was greeted by two men who were eventually taken away by police.

According to neighbors, the unruly squatters were seen and heard renovating their home inside the Queens property.

On Tuesday afternoon, two men parked their black truck in the driveway of Andaloro’s home looking for the brazen occupants.

“We’re looking to get this guy out,” said the unidentified man, who appeared agitated and wearing a black “Trump” T-shirt. He said: “I’m here to talk to him.

“I want to see why he’s here.”

One of the neighbors in the neighborhood, who saw what happened, said “holy shit” and said she had no idea the squatter problem was causing so much backlash.

Many neighbors are baffled by the ordeal and say they want to know how the squatters gained access to the house.

“It’s disgusting,” said one person, who mentioned seeing one of the squatters walking around outside.

He added sarcastically, “I wish I could live rent-free.” »

Adele Andaloro, 47, inherited her family’s property in Flushing, Queens and hoped to sell it — but was stopped in her tracks when squatters moved in last month.

Another neighbor, who asked not to be identified, told DailyMail.com that she had noticed disturbing activity in the house in recent weeks.

She said she saw one of the squatters open a door into the house late at night.

“I actually saw the door going into the house. The guy looked at me and then looked away,” she recalls. “I didn’t know what was happening.”

The same neighbor said there had been a “For Sale” sign on the house for a long time and “this guy (the squatter) came out of nowhere.”

Kosta, a 24-year-old student who lives with his family next to the squatters’ house, told DailyMail.com he remembered the previous owners – and said he had been “nervous” since they arrived there a few weeks.

The neighbor added: “They are doing work on the house all night.

“I heard a drilling sound and saw through my window that they were drilling holes in the wall and putting boards in.”

He said one of these boards had been placed above the window. Kosta added: “I don’t know if the painting is still there, but it looked like they were trying to hide what was inside.”

Many residents have lived in this close-knit neighborhood for more than 30 years.

“We all know what they’re doing, so we’re all a little upset,” Kosta said.

Andaloro was arrested for changing the locks, which is illegal under New York City’s illegal eviction law.

Others living on the street have complained that what is happening to the landlord is “unfair” – as one local resident called the squatters “sons of bitches”.

Many neighbors living on the street said they wanted to help the landlord as much as possible to get the squatters out – and said they were willing to sign a petition.

According to residents, Andaloro lived in the house with her daughter and mother.

When her mother died a few years ago, she stayed in the house and rented the basement to an older man and his dog, who was considered a beloved member of the community.

When the man left the state, Andaloro put the house on the market.

A woman who appeared to live in the house did not answer the door after several attempts, but earlier in the day she told a source she did not know what was going on and said she was roommate in the house.

A few hours later, the same woman ordered takeaway meals which were delivered to her home around 6:30 p.m.

She opened the door to pay for the order, but closed it shortly after.
