Queensland’s music community is in mourning after local musician Luke Nash died suddenly on Friday.
Known from Warwick to Dalby as a wedding and pub singer, Luke is survived by his 14-year-old son Alakai.
Alakai’s mother, Tiff Adams, announced Luke’s shocking passing on Facebook and Instagram, adding that funeral dates and times have yet to be confirmed.
“It is with great sadness that I inform you that Nash Nash has passed away today,” he wrote on the Nash Music Facebook page, referring to his stage name.
‘Unfortunately, this means that any future gigs you have booked will have to be arranged with other artists.
‘This has all been a huge shock and is clearly out of our control. Thank you for your understanding during this difficult time.”

A friend of Luke’s friends, Emma Hope, has organized a memorial and fundraising event on February 23 at the Blue Mountain Hotel.
‘Sadly, as you all know, Nash passed away suddenly on Friday, January 10, 2025.
‘As you can imagine, this time is extremely difficult for the Nash family, for me and especially for Alakai.
‘His loss has left such an impact that we are still coming to terms with it all.
“After many of Nash’s friends suggested we set up a GoFundMe, we decided to kindly ask for support to help alleviate some of the financial stress left after someone passes away, but also to help support the future of Alakai, which was the most important to Nash.
‘If you knew Nash, you would know that he was one of the kindest and most genuine people you will ever meet.
‘Nash would give the shirt he was wearing, his last dollar, to those who needed it, even if it meant going without it. He really hit others often.
‘Nash, above all, loved his son beyond measure. Alakai was his absolute world. Help us fulfill Nash’s greatest wish by supporting Alakai’s future.”
GoFundMe has currently raised $2,270 of its $4,500 goal, and 28 donations have been made so far.
