“She was my world”: Dad’s heartache as the love of his life dies in a horrible frontal crash that caused their son to fight for nine months for life in a coma

  • A mother and her nine-month-old son were involved in a frontal crash on Friday
  • Sharon France, 40, and her son Kaiden were just minutes away from their home
  • Their car crashed head-on into a small truck and Mrs. France died on the spot
  • Kaiden is in an induced coma in Townsville with his father, Brad, by his side

A mother of six was murdered and her son is in an induced coma after the car in which she was driving collided with a small truck on Valentine’s Day.

Sharon France, 40, and her nine-month-old son Kaiden were minutes away from home when their car crashed head-on with the truck at Hay Point in the Mackay region of Queensland, around Friday afternoon.

Mrs. France died on the spot, while Keidan was taken to Mackay Base Hospital with serious injury.

He was then flown to Townsville and placed in an induced coma where he stayed with his father, Brad France, by his bed.

France had spoken to his wife just 15 minutes before the fatal crash and described his heartache after losing his “nice, outgoing” wife.

“(My favorite memory of her) went on vacation – we used to go camping,” he told the Mackay Daily Mercury.

“We were planning to go to Fraser Island in a week, everything was paid for.”

France had been with his wife 17 years before his tragic death and described her as his “world.”

He only realized that his wife and son had had a horrific crash after seeing reports on Facebook. He immediately left work to be next to Keidan.

Mr France posted on the Hay Point Community Noticeboard on Sunday morning to share an update on his son’s condition.

“As you probably all know, my beautiful wife Sharon was also killed with my boy Kaiden in the car during the crash on Friday,” he wrote on Facebook.

“I’m currently next to him in Townsville, still in a coma. He did scans yesterday because he has a broken skull and some other injuries. At the moment they are confident that he will continue. ”

He said his main priority was to look after his four children, as well as the other two children of his wife, all of whom were “destroyed” by the loss.

“The children are desperate, but I have to try to do the right thing through them,” he said.

Police said the driver of the Isuzu truck was a local man in his fifties, who was also taken to Mackay Base Hospital with serious head injuries.

A GoFundMe page was set up by fellow community member Meraine Ford, who said the family has “changed their lives forever.”

“Sharon France, a miracle woman for Brad and mum for six beautiful children, was tragically murdered on Friday … just minutes from their parental home in Timberlands,” she wrote.

The other children of Mrs. France are currently staying with family, while their father and Kaiden are staying in Townsville.

“Our local Alligator Creek / Timberlands family community proposes this page for the France family to help them support (and) enable them to spend time together as a family to mourn,” the page reads.

The fundraising campaign had reached more than $ 7,000 of its $ 10,000 goal on Sunday evening.
