A worker at a Queens smoke shop selling marijuana products was killed Saturday during a daring daylight raid, police said.
The 20-year-old victim was working inside the Plug Smoke Shop on Jamaica Ave. near 110th St. in Richmond Hill when three men barged in with weapons around 12:15 p.m. and began taking tobacco products and THC, police said. .
During the blitzkrieg raid, one of the suspects opened fire, fatally wounding the worker, police and witnesses said.
“We heard three shots and then we heard three more right after,” said a witness, who wished not to be named. “I ran there and they shot him on the ground. He had two on his chest. He was bleeding from the mouth ”.
EMS took the victim to Jamaica Hospital, but he could not be saved. The victim’s name was not released as police officers are tracking family members.
The suspects, arms full of stolen items, ran to a waiting white Toyota Camry and sped off. No arrests have been made.
Several discarded THC products were found on the street in front of the store.
Police officers were scouring the area for surveillance footage to help them identify the suspects.
