The science fiction television series reboot. quantum leap has been canceled by NBC after two seasons.
The decision not to continue with a third season comes more than a month after the two-hour second season finale aired on the network on February 20.
Some of the main cast members responded quickly to the move, which was confirmed by several publications, including Deadlinewith heartfelt farewell reactions on social networks.
‘I just wanted to thank our QL fans and those who tuned in. We feel your support and always receive it warmly. “You all have made this the trip of your lives,” star Raymond Lee shared in an Instagram post just hours after the news became public.
Lee, 37, continued to share about the quality of the show and the people he met during the show’s run that began with the premiere episode on September 19, 2022.

Series stars Raymond Lee and Caitlin Bassett took to Instagram to thank fans for their support after NBC announced the rebooted series had been canceled.
“We’re so proud of the show we made and even prouder of the stories we get to tell,” continued the actor, who played new lead character Dr. Ben Song. “And selfishly, I got to make some really awesome friends along the way.”
He ended the post with a reference to the show’s time-doubling premise seen in the original production starring Scott Bacula that ran from 1989 to 1993 and the recent reboot.
“When another group gets their hands on an accelerator and its capabilities, hopefully they will find us floating in time, still thriving to right what once went wrong,” he shared with obvious joy and appreciation for his words.
Just six weeks ago, a day after the second season finale, Lee took to Instagram to share his appreciation for the creative team behind the series, which he called ‘The Bosses.’
‘I don’t know how they do it. “Through Covid, strikes, and literal storms, they have sailed this time-traveling ship toward one of the biggest, most satisfying season finales I have ever experienced,” she shared.
‘I’m a fan of our program. I’m fighting for each script to arrive and when it airs I watch it like everyone else does. I’m amazed at how you’ve guided our creative team to create these stories each week. Weaving the past with the present and always making us move forward. And when people mention the heart on our show, it really starts with them.”
He concluded: “Everything flows from the top and we are lucky to follow the example of @martingero and @deangorgaris.” Thank you for thinking of everything so we don’t have to. The pan is hot, so let’s continue cooking.
Lee’s co-star Caitlin Bassett, who played Addison Augustine, Dr. Ben Song’s fiancée and observer, was meant to be the jumper for the new project.
Lee ended the farewell post by writing, “You all have made this the trip of a lifetime.”

“I’m so sorry to say…goodbye jumpers,” the actress, 34, began her own Instagram post, alongside a photo of her character.
‘Thank you very much for every moment of this incredible trip. And thank you @nbc and @universaltv for the trip of a lifetime,” he wrote in gratitude, before adding, “As wonderful QL superfan Matt Dale said, “be excellent to each other.”
The new version of Quantum Leap was developed in the present day, 30 years after Dr. Sam Beckett disappeared in the Quantum Leap accelerator.
As a result, a new team was assembled to restart the project in hopes of understanding the mysteries behind the machine and the man who created it.

For unknown reasons, Dr. Ben Song, the new project’s lead physicist, uploaded new program code to the project’s systems and used the updated accelerator to go back in time.
He gets lost in the past just like Beckett did, living other people’s lives and changing history in the hopes of returning to the present.
Augustine, an employee of the project, acts as Ben’s liaison to the project, appearing to him as a hologram that only he can see and hear, just as previous project observer Al Calavicci did for Beckett.
Along with Lee and Bassett, the cast also includes Mason Alexander Park, Nanrisa Lee, Ernie Hudson, Eliza Taylor and Peter Gadiot, as well as recurring stars Susan Diol, Georgina Reilly, Walter Perez and Alice Kremelberg.
