Quirky boutique hotel chain QT has expanded to Newcastle and has launched the ‘job of a lifetime’ for one lucky candidate.
QT is looking for his first connoisseur who is essentially sleeping at work, making his way through the hotel and throwing theatrically flamboyant rooftop parties.
While they don’t receive a salary, they’ll enjoy countless luxury experiences for free, including sampling the hotel’s deluxe seasonal menu, inspecting the signature rooms during an overnight stay at The Clock Suite, and hosting a 40-person rooftop party.
The successful candidate will undoubtedly have to express his flair, style and bend his taste buds to heavenly heights.
The extravagant ‘tasks’ pay for themselves and can be enjoyed all year round if desired.

In true QT form, no two rooms are alike, and so the QT connoisseur gets the chance to take over an entire floor of the hotel to make sure ten rooms pass a ‘vibe check’.
The chosen candidate will enjoy insider access to the Japanese-inspired menu and their choice of theatrically flared cocktails made with QT’s Ordered Chaos Gin, created in collaboration with Four Pillars.
With the largest whiskey collection in Newcastle, the QT connoisseur gets the chance to sample the rarest whiskey in town, flown straight from Japan.

Duties include but are not limited to testing the hotel’s deluxe seasonal menu and inspecting the signature rooms
After a long day of eating, the connoisseur sleeps at work – what has been called the ‘most important’ part of the role.
Coat the party pants with some pajamas and sink into a lavishly oversized tub before drifting off to sleep on a relaxing QT dream bed.
To apply for the position, future tastemakers should message the QT Newcastle Instagram page show off their ability to eat, drink and sleep at work with their best selfie or TikTok.
Registrations close at midnight on Tuesday, June 21, so interested parties should respond quickly.
