Qantas plans to restart international flights from late 2021 – just in time for Christmas
Qantas is on track to restart international flights from late 2021 – just in time for the Christmas trip in Australia.
The airline announced on Thursday that it expects to gradually reduce overseas flights once 80 percent of the Australian population has been vaccinated against Covid-19.
At that point, the country would reach ‘Phase C’ of the federal government’s path out of the pandemic – leading to the reopening of international borders.

High vaccination coverage destinations, including North America, the UK, Singapore and Japan, will be among the first itineraries available, a Qantas spokesperson said.
The airline said flights to destinations with low vaccination coverage and high numbers of Covid-19 cases will not restart until April 2022.
