Wild weather has forced flight cancellations across the country, and stranded Swifties who were on their way to Taylor Swift’s first Sydney concert.

Airservices Australia implemented restrictions on the volume of incoming and outgoing flights for all airlines in Sydney due to a forecasted thunderstorm on Friday afternoon.

As a result, Qantas had to cancel four flights from Melbourne to Sydney on Friday afternoon.

However, the airline offered Swift’s fans a surprising alternative way into the harbor city by sending an Airbus A380, one of the biggest planes in its fleet, which is not normally used for domestic flights.

‘The A380 will carry 485 passengers, the equivalent of almost three Boeing 737 flights which normally operate this route,’ a statement from the airline read.

‘While this would normally be used to support our international network on flights to places like London and LA, given the incredibly high demand in Sydney today, it is being brought in to support the domestic operation.’

Passengers who couldn’t board the Airbus were reassigned to alternative flights.

The Airbus departed from Melbourne at 5pm and arrived at Sydney International Terminal at approximately 6.40pm.

While some of her fans made a frantic journey to the harbor city, Taylor spent the day relaxing ahead of the show she and her boyfriend Travis Kelce visited Sydney Zoo.

The popstar and her NFL star partner went on a date at the 16.5-hectare site earlier this week ahead of Swift’s three concerts in Australia’s biggest city, as they were spotted even petting a little kangaroo.

The pair are sparing no expense for their overseas reunion in Australia, with the two shacking up at one of Sydney’s swankiest and extravagant hotels.

The pair are staying at the posh Crown Towers, the city’s first six-star hotel, located in the harbour-side neighborhood of Barangaroo, during Swift’s four-day stop in Sydney for her Eras Tour.

With upscale restaurants, lavish facilities, and high-end amenities throughout the property, the venue boasts a guaranteed luxurious experience, something both Taylor and Travis are more than used to.

Yet, the loved-up couple still opted for the most opulent – and priciest – room the hotel has to offer – the Crown Presidential Villa.

The palatial residence is so ritzy, guests are required to inquire for its nightly rates, which typically starts at an eye-watering $16,300 (AUD$25,000) a night.

Billed as the property’s largest villa at 860sqft, two-story hotel room is situated on the 88th floor and features a stunning panoramic views of Sydney and Sydney Harbor through its floor-to-ceiling windows.
