A woman and child have been rushed to hospital after being injured during turbulence on a Qantas flight from Sydney to Brisbane.
The woman in her 40s and the child, aged under 10, suffered bruises and lacerations on flight QF528 on Wednesday.
The couple were taken to Prince Charles Hospital in Brisbane for treatment, a Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said.
Another person injured on the flight refused treatment from paramedics.
The mother and child were reportedly not wearing seat belts at the time, even though the seat belt sign was on.
The plane landed safely after being hit by turbulence.
“Our pilots and cabin crew are highly trained to manage a variety of onboard events, including turbulence, but we know this would have been very unsettling and we thank customers for their cooperation,” a Qantas spokeswoman said.
The Queensland Ambulance Service said paramedics assessed three patients.

“Three patients were assessed, one patient refused care, but a woman in her 40s and a child were transported to Princes Charles Hospital in a stable condition with bruising and lacerations.”
