Ouch! Puppet show of the Penis performer suffers a serious injury to his testicle after a bizarre corkscrew accident
- Puppetry from Penis maker David Friend injured his testicle during a show
- Friend sat on the lap of a woman in the crowd who had a corkscrew in her pocket
- He said his testicle ‘got a deep purple color’ and was advised to let him rest
- Friend is replaced by Adelaide comedian Michael Dwyer in upcoming shows
A member of the Puppetry of the Penis duo suffered a testicle damage with a corkscrew during a performance.
David Friend is the creator of the naked comedy group and injured himself during a show at the Adelaide Fringe Festival on Wednesday night.
Friend did an act known as “The Bulldog” when he sat in the crowd on the lap of a woman.
She had been on a tour earlier that day and had a corkscrew in her pocket.
The city reported that Friend’s testicle “became a deep shadow of purple” with doctors advising him to rest for a week.

Buddy will be replaced for Puppetry of the Penis’ remaining performances by Adelaide comedian Michael Dwyer.
Dwyer has previously performed in Puppetry of the Penis, but never in Australia, and looks forward to seeing some familiar faces in the crowd during the show.
“There is every chance that my old school teacher would see me there,” Dwyer said.
He has assured his family that he will not perform completely naked.
“I still wear my sneakers, that’s what I’m telling my mother,” he said.
