PSG ‘have positive talks with Julian Nagelsmann’ as French giants close in on hiring ex-Bayern Munich boss as new manager
- Christophe Galtier would have been sacked after a season at PSG
- Julian Nagelsmann is in talks to replace Galtier at Parc des Princes
- Nagelsmann was fired by Bayern Munich midway through the season
Paris Saint-Germain have taken a step forward in their pursuit of former Bayern Munich boss Julian Nagelsmann.
Nagelsmann, who turned down the opportunity to manage Chelsea and was ruled out to take charge of Tottenham, is in talks to replace Christophe Galtier as manager of the French giants.
And Gianluca Di Marzio report that “positive contact” has been established between the two parties as a deal draws closer.
Nagelsmann, who has also been linked with the Napoli job, was sacked by Bayern earlier this year.
Bayern’s hierarchy have been disappointed with the club’s inconsistent performance after the season resumed after the World Cup.
Paris Saint-Germain close to appointing Julian Nagelsmann as new manager
Nagelsmann was replaced by Thomas Tuchel, who won the Bundesliga title on the final day of the season but left the Champions League in the quarter-finals.
During his time at Bayern, Nagelsmann won the Bundesliga in the 2021-22 campaign and also won two DFL-Supercups.
He would replace Galtier, who was reportedly fired after just one season with the Ligue 1 champions.

The 56-year-old signed a two-year deal with the Qatar-backed club when appointed in July 2022 but failed to complete a single year in the French capital.
While Galtier led the team to their 11th championship after a successful league campaign in 2022-23, his spell at PSG was marred by a failure to get past the Champions League knockout stages.
