Bec and Lleyton Hewitt have watched their teenage son follow in his famous father’s footsteps.
The actress and tennis champion were on court for her 16-year-old Cruz’s first Australian Open match at Melbourne Park on Saturday.
Cruz emerged victorious with a 6-3, 6-3 victory over MooBeen Kim in the first round of the men’s singles draw.
Former Australian world No. 1 Lleyton was absolutely beside himself as Cruz dominated the court.
The 43-year-old put on an impressive display through the crowd as Cruz shouted with joy at his victory.
Meanwhile, Bec sometimes seemed tense and other times proud as she rode the emotional rollercoaster of seeing her son at his best.

Cruz has been a rising star in the sport, following the path set for him by his legendary father.
Lleyton was forced to defend his son this week after the teenager was attacked by trolls on social media.
Hewitt addressed speculation that his son received an Australian Open wild card for the qualifiers based largely on his famous surname.
Cruz was eliminated in the first round after being defeated by former world number 16 Nikoloz Basilashvili in straight sets, but won admirers for showing fight during the match.
He was one of four Australians awarded a wild card into the qualifying draw alongside fallen star Bernard Tomic, Alex Bolt and Jason Kubler.
Some X users were even more outraged when they saw the youngster bat with the likes of world number one Jannik Sinner, Nick Kyrgios, Carlos Alcaraz and local hope Alex de Minaur.
The rising teenager is currently ranked 1264 in the world and is world junior number 107, but good judges consider him a player to watch.
“It’s a long journey,” two-time Grand Slam winner Lleyton Hewitt said on Channel Nine when asked about his son’s progress on the court on Tuesday.

Cruz has been a rising star in the sport, following the path set for him by his legendary father.
“I was excited to see him play. He had a difficult draw against Basilashvili, former number 16 and player who played finals in Indian Wells.
‘That Cruz is close to these guys, Jannik Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz, Alex de Miñaur… what incredible role models for him to see how they prepare.
“He’s playing well right now and I get excited when I see him bat with some of these world-class players… he can actually hit them well enough.”
Fellow Australian tennis player Todd Woodbridge also backed the youngster, dismissing calls of “nepotism” on social media.
“Cruz is in these positions because he is a very good and talented young player and one of the best here in Australia,” he told viewers on Tuesday.
‘He deserves every opportunity he gets to be there. Some people (online trolls) would like to say the opposite.
“I know you (Lleyton) have to deal with it and you shouldn’t have to, so I’m saying it: he deserves to be there.”
Cruz is brimming with confidence after taking two titles in Sydney and one in Christchurch, New Zealand, last year.

And before this, the family moved from Melbourne to Sydney and the Gold Coast in pursuit of the young Hewitt’s sporting ambitions.
The teenager has had tennis ambitions for some time and in 2021 the Hewitt family climbed Melbourne stumps and invested just over $4 million in a prized Burleigh Heads mansion on the Gold Coast.
Daily Mail Australia revealed that the reason behind the relocation to the Gold Coast was part of his ‘Mission Cruz’ to develop his son Cruz’s burgeoning tennis career.
Lleyton, Cruz’s Wimbledon champion father, is understood to have been attracted to the coast’s many sprawling tennis centres, made up of a mix of grass, clay and hard-court surfaces, as well as the multi-million-dollar tennis academy KDV ‘factory of champions’ located in Carrara.
The state-of-the-art facility, which includes 20 courts, hotel accommodations, gyms, a swimming pool and a practice field, will serve as a makeshift base for Team Hewitt as Cruz continues his rise through the international youth ranks.
Tennis sources have described Cruz as “as good, if not better,” than his famous father at the same age and the budding ace is a bona fide future superstar.
“The move (to the Gold Coast) is largely a sign that the Hewitts are becoming increasingly serious about Cruz’s potential as a future top-ten player in the world,” said one local tennis expert.
Lleyton and Bec married in 2005 and also have two daughters, Mia, 19, and Ava, 14.
