Star-Backed Firm Protein Shake to Expand
A company backed by actor Idris Elba that makes meal replacements for those who don’t want to cook is building a factory as it expands.
Huel, which was founded in 2015 and sells drinks and bars packed with protein, fibre, fat and other essential nutrients, will open the Milton Keynes site in January.
The £8 million investment will create 30 jobs, bringing Huel’s total workforce to 300.

The site, located in the city’s business park, will serve the majority of Huel’s customers in the UK and Europe as it looks to expand its market share.
Huel targets health-conscious millennials, travelers, and those who are too busy to cook.
The company said its financial year has been ‘rolling’ with 300 million meals sold worldwide.
Chief Executive James McMaster said: “The opening marks another achievement in what has already been a successful year.”
Luther star Elba, 50, has said he spent several years as ‘Hueligan’, the nickname the company gives customers.
Last year he and his wife Sabrina backed Huel in a £20m fundraiser.
