A prison governor has apologized to double rapist Isla Bryson after the trans sex offender complained after being called “son”.
The trans sex offender, named Adam Graham until 2020, was convicted of raping two women before transitioning.
Bryson was initially committed to the all-female Cornton Vale prison, but was later committed to the men’s prison HMP Edinburgh, in what was an embarrassing U-turn for former First Minister Nicola Sturgeon.
Now, writing from a cell, Bryson has written a plaintive letter to the Sunday mail claiming to be a victim of “transphobia” inside the prison.
The rapist also complained of being the victim of a hate crime after prison guards forbade him from wearing makeup. The 32-year-old from Clydebank, who boasted of having a feminine voice and breasts.

Bryson said in the handwritten letter: ‘I’m just dealing with staff transphobia.
‘A member of staff in Edinburgh told me that the MSP has been telling governors to treat trans women entering the SPS as men. “It’s disgusting and a hate crime.”
Prime Minister Humza Yousaf introduced a new hate crimes law earlier this month that could convict people for misgendering a person online.
Bryson added: “They refuse to take out any women’s toiletries or makeup. I’m taking blockers right now. I have boobs. I don’t look like a man anymore.
Natalie Beal, governor of HMP Glenochil, reportedly wrote a letter to Bryson apologizing that one of her staff had called the sexual predator “son”, adding that the officer may not have realized Bryson was trans.
This is not the first time Bryson has criticized the prison for being ‘transphobic’.
In July, the offender said in another letter: ‘I am not doing very well due to abuse from staff members, all because I am transgender, and so are other prisoners.
‘This prison is full of transphobic people. The police are involved because of the abuse related to my gender. “People won’t stop being transphobic.”

In another note, Bryson complained about having to wear men’s clothes in prison and recounted how her fellow inmates called her Mrs. Doubtfire.
Bryson was convicted of the rape of a woman in Clydebank, East Dunbartonshire, in 2016 and the rape of a second woman in Drumchapel, Glasgow, in 2019.
Bryson met the victims online and prosecutors said the criminal “preyed” on vulnerable women.
Bryson was sentenced to eight years in prison at the High Court in Edinburgh, with a further three years on license in February 2023.
The rapist claimed to have started transitioning at the age of 29, but Bryson’s estranged wife Shonna Graham, 31, previously told MailOnline her ex-partner’s transition was an “attention-seeking sham”.
She said he was ‘pushing the authorities’ to avoid a male prison. Critics said the rapist was a threat to female inmates.
