Princess Margaret’s granddaughter makes her modeling debut on the cover of Tatler

Date:

She was a bridesmaid at William and Kate’s wedding and stood with the couple on the balcony of Buckingham Palace as they shared a kiss.

Now 20 years old, Lady Margarita Armstrong-Jones is back in the spotlight on the cover of Tatler.

However, being in the public eye is unusual for Princess Margaret’s granddaughter.

Despite her background, she now leads a quiet life in Paris, where she can ride her bike without being recognized.

Lady Margarita, twenty-sixth in line to the throne, shares a flat with friends in the French capital, where she moved in September to study jewelry and photography.

Lady Margarita Armstrong-Jones (pictured) will grace the iconic cover of Tatler’s May issue, which will be available on newsstands and via digital download from Thursday 30 March.

His creative instincts were likely nurtured by his amicably divorced parents, the Earl of Snowdon, a carpenter and luxury goods maker, and Serena, Countess of Snowdon, a keen amateur sculptor.

Her late grandfather was the renowned portrait photographer Antony, Earl of Snowdon, who was married to Margaret from 1960 to 1978.

In her photo shoot to mark Lady Marguerite’s 21st birthday in May, Tatler says she has her grandmother’s ‘inquisitive look’, adding: ‘The result: a veritable bombshell of English roses.’

Offsetting the striking sleeves, the couture gown gathers around Lady Margarita’s waist before billowing into a voluminous skirt.

The fashionista is pictured with her blonde hair swept back, showing off her stunning peachy-pink complexion and striking eyeliner.

To finish off her look, Lady Margarita rocked a dark smokey eye, hot pink lipstick, and black nail polish.

During the shoot, the aristocrat also rocked a 1960s-inspired black minidress with a pleated skirt and a stylish hat.

With her hair in loose waves, the blonde beauty exuded glamor thanks to her chunky purple necklace and matching drop earrings.

Lady Margaret never met Margaret, having been born three months after the late Queen’s sister died in February 2002.

The usually low-key 20-year-old has been in the spotlight a bit more than usual in recent years, after attending Prince Philip’s memorial service and the Queen’s funeral.

Her father, David, joined other high-ranking members of the royal family in walking behind the queen’s coffin.

Last November, she appeared to pay tribute to her late grandmother, Princess Margaret, when she wore a white fur coat to Tatler’s Little Black Book party in London.

In the photo, arriving at The Windmill cabaret and cocktail bar, the student looked stunning in a silver sequined mini dress with a plunging neckline.

Opting for a silver smoky eye look, Lady Margarita styled her blonde hair in loose waves and completed her look with a pair of black heels and a coat reminiscent of the one her late grandmother had in the 1950s.

The bespoke Michael Kors creation appears to have been based on an outer garment that Princess Margaret, then 21, wore to the premiere of Captain Horatio Hornblower in 1951.

The film’s glamorous premiere took place on April 12, 1951 in Leicester Square, very close to where the princess’s granddaughter spent the night partying in Soho earlier this week.

Beneath her fur coat, the late princess, who passed away from a stroke in 2002, wore a long-sleeved V-neck gown embellished with pink sequins.

Other Tatler cover stars have included Princess Charlene, who appeared on the cover in January 2022.
