Thirteen-year-old Princess Josephine is Danish royalty’s “version of Prince Louis”, a body language expert has said.

Adrianne Carter detailed how the bold young teenager stole the show and was “ahead of the curve” when the family stepped out again for the adoring crowd at Amalienborg Palace, after making their initial appearance at Christiansborg.

“Her older brother gives her a gentle touch to remind her to control her behavior,” he added, commenting on Josephine’s twin brother, Prince Vincent.

The excited duo waved enthusiastically to the crowd, while their older brother Prince Christian, 18, and sister Isabella, 16, offered more subdued greetings.

The newly crowned King and Queen of Denmark, Frederik and Mary, also shared another tender kiss.

The children had also earlier joined their parents on the balcony of Christiansborg Castle to celebrate the momentous day.

King Frederick X and Queen Mary of Denmark ascended the throne on Sunday, as Queen Margaret II formalized her abdication, which was announced on New Year’s Eve.

Today also marked a big moment for now-Crown Prince Christian, who became first in line to the Danish throne on Sunday afternoon.

The 18-year-old proudly waved to the hundreds of royal watchers who gathered below the balcony, dressed smartly in a navy suit and white dress shirt.

His younger brother, Vincent, was equally dapper in a matching navy suit, but opted for a pink and blue striped tie instead of the color block his older brother was wearing.

Princess Elizabeth, 16, opted for a bold red ensemble, with her hair pulled back into an elegant bun. She enthusiastically greeted the crowd, singing along to her rendition of the Danish National Anthem.

Her younger sister, Josephine, 13, was a little shyer and hid behind her mother.

But Mary quickly calmed her down with an arm around her waist and she too waved to the crowd in her navy pea coat.

There is no doubt that today will mark a turning point for the Danish royals, who until now have grown relatively normally.
