In a rare and candid interview, Prince William opened up about the intense personal challenges he faced this year and described 2024 as the “most difficult” year of his life. During his visit to Cape Town, South Africa, the Prince of Wales shared his emotional journey as his wife, Kate Middleton, and father, King Charles, battled cancer.

William admitted that balancing royal duties with his family’s health crises has been deeply difficult, even as Kate completed chemotherapy and Charles resumed his public commitments. “It’s been terrible,” he said, according to bbc. “It has probably been the most difficult year of my life. Trying to get through everything else and keep everything on track has been really difficult.”

Despite the challenges, William expressed his deep admiration for both Kate and Charles, applauding their resilience and courage. “I am very proud of my wife.“I’m proud of my dad, for handling the things they’ve done,” he shared, adding that from a family standpoint, this year has been “brutal.”
