Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams said GB News that the Prince of Wales does not allow the drama surrounding the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to distract him from his important work. “As everyone knows, there is a rift in the royal family, but the Sussexes, not William, were the cause,” Fitzwilliams shared.
The expert highlighted a notable contrast between the brothers’ approaches to environmental defense. “Harry and Meghan have talked about environmental issues and haven’t always practiced what they preached,” he said, referring to previous criticism the Sussexes faced over their use of their private jets.
Conversely, Fitzwilliams praised William’s leadership in spearheading the Earthshot Prize, a global initiative aimed at finding innovative solutions to the world’s environmental challenges. “It’s clear that William is emphasizing the purpose of the Earthshot Prize, which is to find solutions to the environmental crisis,” he said.
Fitzwilliams further noted that William is well aware of public fatigue from being “constantly told what not to do.” He explained: “He knows, although it is rarely mentioned by those who talk about climate change, that there is too much preaching about this issue.”
The expert believes that William’s approach focuses more on encouragement and motivation. “William realizes that if people are constantly told what not to do – that they shouldn’t fly or eat less meat – that sort of thing puts people off,” Fitzwilliams said. “He wants to inspire.”
