Prince William and Kate Middleton’s Concerns Over Prince George’s Role in King Charles’ Coronation

Prince William and Kate Middleton were reportedly worried about their son Prince George’s role in King Charles’ coronation last year. According to royal expert and commentator Tom Quinn, the Prince and Princess of Wales feared the historic event could prove overwhelming for their young son.

While the Waleses have a strong bond with the monarch, Quinn revealed they had “a bit of a row” about George’s involvement in the key event as it brought back sad memories for William.

“I have heard from my contacts that there is some discussion about whether George should take a more formal role,” Quinn told The Express“I hear Kate and William are worried it might be too much for him.”

Quinn drew parallels between George’s role at the coronation and William and Prince Harry’s experiences during their marriage to their mother. Princess Diana’s funeral“It’s almost an echo of the way William and Harry were sometimes forced to attend formal occasions they shouldn’t have been forced to attend, most famously their mother’s funeral and walking behind her coffin at their age,” he said.

“A lot of people criticised that and said it was awful to force two such young boys, and especially Harry, to do that. So I think people are looking back on this and thinking, ‘Well, wait a minute, if George is some sort of pageboy, or has a similar role at the Coronation, is that going too far back into traditional roles?’”

Quinn mentioned “I have heard that there is a lot of discussion going on right now on how to do this, and from what I have heard, nothing has been decided yet.”

Despite these concerns, George, who is second in line to the British throne, played a prominent role in the coronation, making history as the youngest future king to take part in a coronation ceremony. His participation was a significant moment, highlighting his future responsibilities while also reflecting the current challenges of balancing tradition with the well-being of the younger members of the royal family.
