Prince William recently embarked on a major engagement as Prince of Wales, visiting a university on his estate in the Duchy of Cornwall, a responsibility he inherited from King Charles following his accession to the throne. During the visit, the future king was candid about his love for sweets and even shared some details about his wife, Kate Middleton’s, dessert preferences.
While touring the university, Prince William visited the criminology department and stopped by Sam’s Café, run by chef Darren Watson. According HELLO!Chef Watson has been experimenting with various desserts in an effort to find the ones most beloved by the British royal family. During the visit, she presented Prince William with a special refrigerated breakfast cake, a gift that mirrors one of the layers of the prince’s wedding cake. The dessert was made with chocolate, butter, sugar, cream and cookies.
Upon receiving the candy, Prince William expressed his gratitude and admitted his love for desserts. “Thank you very much, that is very sweet of you. Any kind of sweet thing I will accept; “I am a fan of chocolate and everything sweet,” he said.
The prince also delighted the chef by revealing Kate’s favorite dessertacknowledging her love for sticky toffee pudding. After the chef mentioned the pudding, William replied: “Very good,” confirming it as one of the Duchess of Cambridge’s top dessert choices.
This engagement had been on Prince William’s agenda for some time, but was postponed due to Kate Middleton’s recent health issues, including her ongoing battle with cancer. Now, with Kate on the road to recovery, William has resumed his duties and continues to connect with the people and places that are part of his royal responsibilities.
