Prince Oscar of Sweden stole the show today during a balcony performance as the royals gathered to celebrate the king’s birthday.
The seven-year-old prince took a leaf out of Britain’s Prince Louis when he looked restless during a public appearance on the balcony in the courtyard of the Royal Palace in Stockholm when King Carl XVI Gustaf turned 77.
The royal appeared with his mother Crown Princess Victoria, 45, father Prince Daniel, 49, and sister Princess Estelle, 11. He was also joined by Queen Silvia, Princess Sofia and Prince Gabriel.
Oscar, who turned seven in early March, was pictured sheltering in his mother’s blue coat as the family waved to royal fans.
As he faced the front of the balcony, he put his head in his hands and began brushing his hair back from his face with a look of fear in antics reminiscent of Prince Louis’ brazen balcony performance on the occasion of the Platinum Jubilee of the late Queen Elizabeth. last June.

Another picture showed Oscar, Duke of Skåne, looking particularly gloomy as the sun shone in his eyes and the wind whipped through his hair.
Meanwhile, the other royals present on the balcony beamed and waved to the crowd in celebration of the occasion.
In a moment particularly reminiscent of five-year-old Prince Louis’ quirky balcony appearance at the Queen’s Jubilee, Crown Princess Victoria leaned in to kiss her restless son on the head.
The mother-of-four’s attempt to settle her child was much like the Princess of Wales’s soft whisper to Prince Louis during the Red Arrows flypast last June.

In the first of the two images, Oscar, who has combed his hair perfectly into place, beams as Cavapoo, Rio, hugs his family as he sits on a cream sofa.
In the second photo, Oscar is accompanied by his sister, Princess Estelle, 11. The pair were captured sitting back-to-back on a staircase as they grinned at the camera.
Oscar chose gray jeans and a brown vest with black shoes. His sister looked equally good in a white top and houndstooth skirt.
Elsewhere, the Swedish royals, including Queen Silvia, Princess Estelle and Princess Sofia, looked stylish, if a little windy, as they appeared on the balcony
