Prince Harry has been in the headlines this week for his solo trip to New York, where he participated in various charitable initiatives and even made a featured appearance on a popular American talk show.
His engagement included a heartfelt speech at the Clinton Global Initiative, where he spoke about online safety and paid tribute to his mother, Princess Diana, during a panel about the Diana Award.
However, royal historian Dr Tessa Dunlop noted that Meghan Markle’s absence was glaring and could affect Harry’s brand.
talking to the mirrorHe commented that Harry’s individual efforts seem “a little lacking,” especially considering the couple’s powerful joint ventures in the past.
“Only, Harry was a second-rung royal, or as he puts it, the Replacement. Meghan was a little Hollywood actress on Suits.
Together, they were a force to be reckoned with: megastars and big money,” Dunlop explained.
She continued: “But now, back on his own, the Duke’s brand seems, well, a little weak, no matter how ably he plays his role in the sphere adjacent to American royalty.”
Meanwhile, Meghan reportedly stayed at her home in Montecito, California, caring for her two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
