Prince Harry has been labeled “quite strange” for addressing rumors about his personal life in what some see as an unusual public relations move, according to royal editor Kate Mansey. During an episode of The Royals Podcast with host Roya NikkahMansey addressed Harry’s recent comments, specifically his attempt to clear up speculation about his marriage and living arrangements.
The Duke of Sussex had said: “Apparently we have bought or moved house 10, 12 times. Apparently we’ve also been divorced about 10 or 12 times. So it’s like, what? Mansey was surprised that Harry decided to publicly engage with such rumors.
“It’s interesting that he’s addressing those rumors publicly.” she noticed. “It seems like a pretty strange thing to do.” He went further and offered insight into Harry’s possible mindset. “I think he’s baffled by a lot of what’s been written about him, and always has been,” Mansey added, suggesting that constant scrutiny may have motivated Harry’s decision to respond so directly.
Harry’s comments were made during his recent appearance at the New York Times DealBook Online Summit, where he spoke about his current life in the United States. The duke not only dispelled the rumors, but also opened up about his future plans, especially when it comes to raising his children.
“I really enjoy living here and bringing my kids here,” he said of his life in California. “It’s a part of my life that I never thought I would experience.”
Mansey’s opinion reflects a broader curiosity about Harry’s decision to engage so candidly in gossip, something senior royals typically avoid. Traditionally, the Royal Family follows the motto “Never complain, never explain.” choosing not to dignify the speculation with a response. Harry’s approach, however, represents a marked departure from that strategy.
