King Charles is keen to patch things up with his youngest son, but Prince Harry cannot return to his royal duties unless he abandons his money-making ventures and apologizes.

That is the opinion of Richard Eden, who says that his older brother, Prince William, is adamant on the issue.

In the latest edition of her Palace Confidential newsletter, Eden concludes that recent events provide a preview of Harry’s life when William is on the throne.

The younger brother, he says, is likely isolated.

“What I have heard is that, while the king is keen to patch things up with his youngest son, Prince William insists that the Royal Household should respect the Sandringham summit agreement with Queen Elizabeth in 2020,” Eden writes. .

As the late Queen said, in that agreement Harry and Meghan “made it clear that they do not want to rely on public funds in their new lives.”

Eden believes recent suggestions that the Duke of Sussex was keen to return to a temporary royal role in support of his father were well-sourced.

In a bid to help heal the rift in the Royal Family, The Times said King Charles and Prince Harry had had several “warm exchanges” since Charles received his cancer diagnosis.

The duke was understood to have told friends he would be taking on a royal role while his father was unwell.

However, the response from sources in Britain, rather than California, was “swift and brutal,” Eden writes.

‘The King, my colleague Rebecca English was told, was of the firm view that there was no turning back for Harry as a working royal “in any way, shape or form.”

“Now, Harry wants to return to his royal duties, in some form, I’m told. But this week he’s been given a taste of what to expect when his brother is King: isolation.

“There is no way the Sussexes will be allowed to rejoin ‘The Firm’ when William is on the throne, unless they stop making money and apologize for their behavior in recent years.

“I’m not going to hold my breath.”
