Prince Harry is expected to celebrate his 40th birthday in a low-key manner, away from his former royal life and family. The Duke of Sussex, who has frequently expressed his discontent with his time in the Royal Family, will spend the occasion in California with his wife, Meghan Markle, and their children, miles from the life he once knew.
Former royal butler Paul Burrell speculated that Harry might not be entirely happy with his current circumstances. Closer MagazineBurrell shared his belief that the duke is likely to feel conflicted as this milestone birthday approaches. “Harry will be in exile for his 40th birthday. It will probably be a low-key celebration within the gates of his home with famous friends. I don’t think he will be happy.” Burrell said.
Burrell reflected on the life Harry left behind and highlighted the difficult decisions he has made since leaving royal duties. “The saddest thing is that he could have had it all. But, even though the children are young, there is no way things will change for Harry because he adores his wife and his family, and that is the path he is following.”
As Harry prepares to turn 40, Burrell suggests the duke may be grappling with nostalgia and reflecting on the life he once had. “I’m sure he’s feeling nostalgic and I’m sure his upcoming 40th birthday is making him reflect on the past and his previous life. If Harry doesn’t have regrets, he has no soul.”
While Harry remains dedicated to his family and the new life he has built in California, his milestone birthday may bring a period of reflection as he considers the path he has chosen since stepping away from royal life.
