Prince Harry has secured the services of his neighbor Katy Perry to sing at the opening night of her Invictus Games.

The Grammy-nominated star will headline the inaugural event for disabled military veterans in Vancouver, Canada, in February.

The 40-year-old is by far the biggest star to appear at the bi-annual event attended by Harry and his wife Meghan.

Perry and her partner, British actor Orlando Bloom, are close neighbors of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in Montecito, California.

The couple were among guests at Harry and Meghan’s daughter Lilibet’s third birthday party at their £20million mansion in the posh Californian enclave favored by many A-list stars.

The friendship between the two power couples was evident last year when Harry and Meghan attended the ‘Fireworks’ concert in Las Vegas sitting in VIP seats next to Celine Dion.

While Meghan seemed to enjoy the concert, body language experts who observed Harry noticed that he seemed uncomfortable.

The Invictus Games will be the first major event Harry and Meghan attended together after reports emerged that they were going their separate ways on their engagements.

Harry always gives a keynote speech to welcome the athletes, while Meghan takes the stage for closing remarks after the week-long event attended by athletes from more than 30 countries.

The games, which will be held in Vancouver and the Whistler ski resort, will be the third time the couple has attended together, having previously visited Holland and Germany.

Harry has been actively promoting the event and used an appearance at a Canadian football game last month to speak about the need for “family healing.”

He has also participated in a comic sketch where he appears to be tattooed with an Invictus by the singer Jelly Roll, another of the artists who will appear in the games that start on February 8.
