Prince Harry was in a London court on Monday as a lawyer for a British tabloid group preparing to ask a judge to throw out lawsuits by him, singer Elton John and several other celebrities alleging wiretapping and other invasions of Privacy.
The hearing involves one of several lawsuits that Harry, the Duke of Sussex, has brought against the media. It is expected to last four days.
Harry’s presence in London’s High Court is a sign of the importance he attaches to the case.
Associated Newspapers, which publishes titles including the Daily Mail, is asking the High Court to end lawsuits brought by a group of high-profile individuals seeking damages for the misuse of private information. Other plaintiffs include John’s husband, David Furnish, and actors Liz Hurley and Sadie Frost.
