Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly exploring alternative options for their future, including a possible retreat to Portugal, amid concerns about their standing in the United States should Donald Trump’s presidency pose challenges.

Royal expert Jennie Bond revealed The Duke and Duchess of Sussex may have already secured a property in Portugal, potentially arranged with the help of Harry’s cousin Princess Eugenie and her husband, Jack Brooksbank.

“Now they have a refuge in Portugal. “It’s probably much more than a retreat – it’s certainly a very beautiful property and was perhaps acquired by Eugenie’s husband Jack,” Bond explained. “So if things get complicated or uncomfortable in the United States, Europe might see a little more of Harry, Meghan and their children.”

Despite this contingency, Bond suggested that the couple is in no rush to move. “I suppose, though, they’ll let the dust settle and see how things go; they seem very happy with their Californian lifestyle and I’m sure they don’t want to disturb their children unnecessarily.”

The speculation comes after Donald Trump publicly stated that he would not extend protection to Prince Harry if he needed it during Trump’s presidency. Talking to him MirrorTrump said: “I wouldn’t protect him. He betrayed the Queen. That is unforgivable. “I would be alone if it were up to me.”

The Sussexes currently reside in Montecito, California, with their two children, Archie and Lilibet. His life in the United States has been characterized by high-profile projects, including his Netflix series and Harry’s memoirs. Replacementas well as current tensions with the British Royal Family.

While they are reportedly enjoying their California lifestyle, the possible move to Europe indicates that they could be considering long-term alternatives should circumstances change in the United States. As Trump’s stance increases uncertainty, the option of a European base could provide a safety net for the couple.

For now, Harry and Meghan appear to be focusing on their current projects, while keeping an eye on their future. Whether or not they will eventually relocate remains uncertain, but the possibility of Portugal offers insight into their contingency planning.
