Prince Harry and Meghan Markle receive surprising news upon their return from Nigeria

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have faced a major setback following their recent tour of Nigeria. His charity, the Archewell Foundation, has been declared delinquent by the California Registry of Charities and Fundraising Organizations for “failure to file required annual reports and/or renewal fees.”

According to the New York Post, a source revealed that although the Archewell Foundation submitted the application on time, the relevant party never received the check. This administrative setback has resulted in the foundation’s current state of delinquency.

According to the notice of default obtained by Peoplethe organization is “not in good standing” and “is prohibited from engaging in conduct for which registration is required, including the solicitation or disbursement of charitable funds.”

“The organization may also be subject to sanctions and its registration may be suspended or revoked by the Registry,” warned California Attorney General Rob Bonta. “Once you submit your delinquency records, you will be notified of the amount of late fees due.”

According to him reportHarry and Meghan mailed a new check and “the Archewell Foundation expects the issue to be resolved quickly and reflected in the records within the next seven business days.”

The Archewell Foundation was established by the Sussexes after they stepped down from their roles as royals in 2020. The foundation’s mission, as stated on its website, is to uplift and unite communities “through acts of service and compassion.”

Despite this setback, the couple remains committed to their philanthropic efforts. The situation highlights the challenges that can arise in running a charity, especially one with such a high public profile. The Sussexes will likely need to address this issue promptly to ensure the foundation can continue its work without further disruption.
