Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have broken their silence on the Princess of Wales’ photo-editing furore to deny that sources in their camp have commented on how the Duchess of Sussex would have handled a similar situation.

Amid growing speculation surrounding the Mother’s Day photo of Kate and her children, which was released to the world by Kensington Palace on Sunday, a spokesman for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s Archewell Foundation spoke out to deny that a source close on the couple had done it. comments about the controversy to Page Six.

Speaking to Newsweek, the spokesperson spoke of quotes published by the magazine, which said a source ‘close to Prince William, Harry and his wife’ had not come from inside the Sussexes’ camp.

The so-called source in question stated that the editing error is “not a mistake Meghan would ever make”, noting that “she has a keen eye and wild eye for detail”.

Archewell’s official spokesman has now insisted on that Newsweek that the information shared with Page Six ‘didn’t come from us,’ saying simply, ‘As for Page Six, it didn’t come from us.’

The statement marks the first time Harry, 39, and his wife have officially addressed the photo-editing controversy in any official capacity.

As well as claims that Meghan will ‘never make the (same) mistake’, Page Six also published quotes from an insider who said the Sussexes ‘would have been wiped out’ if they had released a similarly edited photo.

“If Harry and Meghan had ever encountered the same problem, they would have been wiped out,” the source was quoted as saying.

“The same rules do not apply to both couples.

“This is not a mistake that Meghan would ever make … she has a keen eye and keen eye for detail.”

Meghan and Harry’s response to these claims has come after an explosion of conspiracy theories after six of the world’s top image agencies, including the Press Association, sensationally pulled the image from their wires and libraries over concerns that “the source has tampered with the image”.

Princess Kate publicly accepted blame for the family photo released by Kensington Palace on Sunday, issuing an apology for the ‘confusion’ in a statement posted on Wales’ official Instagram account.

DailyMail.com identified 16 separate edits to the image, including problems with the princess’ jeans zip and with Princess Charlotte’s hand and skirt

The Princess of Wales stated on Instagram that she had been responsible for editing the photo, while issuing an apology for ‘any confusion the photograph caused’

‘Like many amateur photographers, I occasionally experiment with editing. I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photo we shared yesterday caused,’ she wrote.

“I hope everyone who celebrated had a very happy Mother’s Day,” Kate then concluded, before signing the statement “C” for Catherine.

The picture of the mother-of-three, beaming alongside Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, was the first official picture of the princess since she underwent ‘scheduled abdominal surgery’ on January 16.

Despite calls for the original to be released, Kensington Palace said it would not re-release the unedited photograph of Kate and her children.

In the wake of public speculation surrounding the photo, royal insiders have claimed the Princess of Wales is keen to move on from the row – and is struggling to deal with the aftermath.

Kate was seen for the first time since the image was released on Monday when she was pictured leaving Windsor Castle with her husband Prince William.

It is understood that the Princess of Wales traveled for a ‘private appointment’ – while Prince William was due to travel to London for two public engagements.
