Prince Harry accused of 'twisting the narrative' over King Charles snub, royal expert says

Prince Harry has been accused of “twisting the narrative” regarding King Charles’ refusal to meet him during his recent visit to the UK. This criticism arose after Harry’s demand to see his father, who was reportedly battling health issues, during her trip to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games.

A royal expert claimed the Duke of Sussex took advantage of the situation, portraying himself as a victim and accusing his father, King Charles, of being unsympathetic. The incident sparked controversy as it added fuel to the ongoing public feud between Harry and the rest of the royal family.

During a discussion about GB News, host Emily Carver accused Harry of intentionally distorting the facts. “He is twisting the narrative to suit his victimhood,” she Carver said. “It’s like he’s deliberately trying to play the victim, when in reality, there may be more to the story.”

“Prince Harry was going to come to the UK anyway for this Invictus Games event. “He didn’t bring his children with him, he didn’t bring his wife,” he said. “He clearly had no intention of using this reunion trip as an olive branch to his father. But he still gets his spokesperson to tell him that it’s the king’s diary that’s too full?

To this, royal expert and biographer Angela Levin agreed, saying: “Harry could have made an effort. I don’t think it’s a good idea to go to the garden party, because the King has to visit everyone else. “But actually he could have said that if I see you just a few minutes later, I know you are very tired, but let me pass. I think it’s demanding. He doesn’t give in, he doesn’t commit. And it is very, very sad,” she added.

He went on to claim that Harry only wanted to meet the King to “be seen” with the Royal Family before his planned trip to Nigeria with Meghan Markle. “He wanted to be seen with his father so that when he and Meghan go to Nigeria, he can signal that the Royal Family really agrees with what he is doing and is supporting him.”

The incident unfolded as Prince Harry returned to the UK to attend the 10th anniversary celebrations of the Invictus Games. Despite his father’s supposed illness, King Charles refused to meet with his son. This refusal reportedly infuriated Harry, who felt his father should have made time for a personal meeting under the circumstances.

Carver suggested that Harry may have exaggerated the seriousness of the situation to gain public sympathy. “It is not uncommon for people to embellish the truth, especially when they want to rally support for their cause,” he added. “Harry knows how to manipulate the media and he’s using that skill here.”
