Prince Andrew looked relaxed today as he left Windsor Castle after a horseback ride from his mother’s house.

The 61-year-old Duke of York wore reflective sunglasses and a navy blue sweater as he drove his Range Rover to his home at Windsor Lodge, where he lives with his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson.

It comes just a day after Ghislaine Maxwell’s lawyer – who once represented one of Osama Bin Laden’s henchmen – released the first photo of the imprisoned socialite since her arrest last year.

So-called ‘super attorney’ Bobbi Sternheim shared the close-up photo of Maxwell, 59, on Thursday as her client languishes in prison on suspicion of trafficking and sexually assaulting girls as young as 14.

Prince Andrew retired from royal duty in November 2019 after a disastrous interview with Newsnight and investigation into his friendship with convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, Maxwell was Epstein’s alleged madam.

In new photos, Maxwell’s left eye has a bruise underneath it, while Maxwell’s usual short, dark cropped haircut has grown out and is speckled with gray hair.

The British socialite’s lawyers included the photo in a lawsuit filed Thursday as part of their ongoing concern over Maxwell’s treatment at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.

After releasing the photo, a judge on Thursday ordered the US government to explain why guards repeatedly flash lights in Maxwell’s cell at night, an action that her lawyers said may have led to the bruises.

Ian Maxwell, Ghislaine’s brother, said in a statement that he was “shocked that my sister’s guards did not immediately refer her for proper medical care.”

Maxwell, who has been accused of grooming girls for pedophile ex Jeffrey Epstein, and participating in his abuse of them, has only been seen in court sketches so far, as no cameras or recording equipment are allowed during hearings.

In an application to federal court in New York, Sternheim wrote that Maxwell was “ confronted by MDC staff for a visible bruise on her left eye on Wednesday evening. ”

Sternheim, who represented Al Qaeda terrorist Khaled al-Fawwaz in two bombings on the US embassy in Africa that killed 224 people, said Maxwell got a ‘black eye’ despite 24/7 CCTV surveillance of her.

The filing stated, ‘No guard addressed the bruise until Mrs. Maxwell, who has no mirror, saw a reflection of her painful eye in the mist from a nail clipper.

‘At that point, the MDC staff confronted Ms. Maxwell about the cause of the bruise and threatened to put her in SHU if she didn’t reveal how she got it’ – the SHU is the most restrictive part of the prison.
