Prince Andrew feels “betrayed” by successive prime ministers whom he blames for “cutting him to death” and encouraging him to prematurely agree to a £12million settlement with his accuser Virginia Giuffre, sources say.

Andrew, who has told friends he “rues the day” he reached the out-of-court settlement, is said to have felt partially pressured to come to an agreement following a talk with Boris Johnson in January last year.

The Prince paid the money and emphatically denied Ms Giuffre’s claims that he had sexually assaulted her when she was 17.

Sources say Mr Johnson told him that ‘it would be best for all involved to settle this matter’ and ‘that would be the end of it’.

The Prince is also said to hold a grudge against David Cameron, saying that when he was Prime Minister Mr Cameron was ‘all over him’ because of his work hosting events for entrepreneurs at Buckingham Palace.

The source said: ‘When the Giuffre saga resurfaced in late 2019, Cameron cut him to death and wouldn’t make eye contact if they were both at the same events.’

Mr Johnson declined to comment.
