"MS Is Getting Old": Virender Sehwag's Massive Remark On 'Buzurg' MS Dhoni | Cricket News

Former Indian cricket team batsman Virender Sehwag was all praise for Chennai Super Kings’ fielding effort during their IPL 2024 win over Gujarat Titans. The match saw several good catches from the CSK fielders including a full diving effort from MS Dhoni which earned him praise from fans and experts alike. During the post-match analysis, Sehwag said that Ajinkya Rahane and Rachin Ravindra took very good catches and added that ‘buzurg‘ (old) Dhoni also contributed with impressive effort – a comment that led to a hilarious exchange with fellow pundit Rohan Gavaskar.

“Catches win matches. Ajinkya Rahane took a good catch, so did Rachin Ravindra. Buzurg (old) MS Dhoni also took one,” Sehwag said on Cricbuzz.

“You didn’t call Rahane buzurg,” Gavaskar replied.

However, Sehwag explained that there is an age difference between Rahane and Dhoni, which means he believes Rahane is slightly fitter than the former CSK captain.

“Their age is not the same, there is a difference and Rahane is also fitter than MS Dhoni. There is a big difference between a 35-year-old and a 41-year-old. No doubt MS is getting old about it now.”

CSK skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad was also quite impressed with his team’s fielding efforts and he further said that it was one of their strongest points in this year’s IPL.

“I’m also impressed with the fieldwork. Maybe this year we have one or two extra youngsters and great effort from Jinks, even in the last game he ran from one end to the other. Fieldwork is a big blow for us ,” he said after the match.

Meanwhile, in a video shared on the CSK’s official social media, Ravindra said that the CSK fans were loud when they faced the Gujarat-based franchise.

The Kiwi all-rounder added it was a “special feeling” when the home crowd chanted his name.

“I’m not sure if I’m a favorite yet, but yeah, I mean, the Chennai fans are great. Like, I said last time how loud it was and they didn’t disappoint again today. And I think It’s always an amazing, special feeling when you have fans who share your name and I mean, I’m very grateful that this is happening and it just shows the love and support that the CSK fans have for the players. So very, very grateful and I hope it just keeps coming,” Ravindra said.
